Weather Whiplash! Freezing cold Saturday morning, but temperatures back into the 70s next week

A large temperature swing is in the forecast for the next several days.

Thermometers across Metro Atlanta reached the mid 70s Thursday afternoon, but a cold front knocked them into the 40s on Friday morning, and they will continue to tumble into the upper 20s by Saturday morning!

Afternoon sunshine will help thaw temperatures into the low 50s, but another freezing cold morning is in the forecast Sunday as temperatures drop back into the mid 30s.

However, warm and humid conditions will return next week, and temperatures will reach record high territories on Wednesday and Thursday!

The warmest temperature ever in February in Atlanta is 80 degrees, and this occurred three times in Atlanta’s history: February 2019, February 1996 and February 1989.
