Warm and humid for the Braves’ Home Opener, rain showers move in this weekend

A few pop up rain showers are possible this evening, but the heavier rain will hold off until this weekend.

The summer-like weather will continue today for the Braves’ Home Opener at Truist Park!

Cloud skies will prevail over Metro Atlanta, but temperatures will still climb into the low 80s this afternoon as the southwest breeze pulls warm and humid air into Georgia.

First-Pitch conditions will feature temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s with mostly cloudy skies. A few rain showers may be lurking nearby, but a rainout of the game is not anticipated for this evening. The animation below shows the Futurecast radar imagery for Thursday afternoon through midnight Friday.

As much as 1-2 inches of rainfall is possible this weekend, with the rain showers tapering off on Sunday morning.

But more rain showers are on the way Friday afternoon and will continue through Saturday evening. The animation below shows the Futurecast radar animation for Friday and Saturday.
