The Autumn Equinox takes place next week, but until then, it will certainly continue to feel like Summer!
Afternoon highs this week will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s, with the hottest afternoon potentially taking place on Tuesday.
However, a “Wedge” will develop over the Appalachian Mountains on Tuesday, generating an east breeze that will push slightly cooler and much drier air into Metro Atlanta.
The animation below illustrates the drier air moving through North Georgia, courtesy of the “Wedge”.
While afternoon highs will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s, morning lows will drop into the mid 60s, ushering in sunrise conditions that will “feel” more like fall.
