Record high temperatures this week ahead of the season’s first big COLD front this weekend

Temperatures continue to climb this week, trending approximately 10 degrees above average and nearing the record highs each afternoon.

Most notably, the forecast calls for temperatures around 85 to 87 through Thursday, which would tie if not break a daily record high temperature for each day.

Below are the record high temperatures this week:

  • Tues, October 13: 86°F on October 13, 1954
  • Wed, October 14: 87°F in 1940
  • Thurs, October 15: 86°F in 2025
  • Fri, October 16: 85°F in 1941

However, the forecast does not call for any temperatures in the 90s this week.

In fact, the record latest 90 degree temperature in Metro Atlanta is October 9, 1941.

With the calendar now past this date, upper 80s would be the hottest that temperatures would reach for the remainder of this season.

And the heatwave won’t last through the weekend! Temperatures will go from “summer heat” to “sweater weather” very quickly as a cold front sweeps through the Southeast Friday evening through Saturday morning.

The animation below illustrates the Futurecast Temperatures for Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.
