Rainfall reports from around Metro Atlanta Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning

Nearly half a foot of rain fell in northwest Metro Atlanta in less than 24 hours.

Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms rolled through North Georgia Tuesday afternoon and again Wednesday morning, dumping heavy rain throughout the Metro Atlanta region.

Below are a selection of the heaviest rainfall reports.

Highest rainfall totals since 12AM Wednesday:

  • Waleska at 3.09 inches
  • Suwanee at 2.75 inches
  • Powder Springs with 2.67 inches
  • Brookhaven at 2.53 inches

Highest rainfall totals in 24 hours include

  • Cartersville with over 6 inches of rain (6.08 inches)
  • Waleska at 5.23 inches
  • Flowery Branch with over 4.6 inches of rain (4.63 inch)
  • Gainesville at 4.56 inch
