Child and pet car heat safety

So far deaths this year are low, hope we keep it that way

Pleasant outside, roasting inside. It does not have to be hot outside for the car to be dangerously hot.

I would imagine that the Covid-19 decrease in activity and mobility has much to do with it.

Now that things are opening up in some areas and the dog days of summer heat are here hopefully people will remain vigilant.

Sometimes kids die at home when they get into a car that is not going anywhere.

On Monday July 20th Athens and Macon both reported a high of 102F, 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. Atlanta recorded its 8th consecutive day of 90 or above with a high of 96.

Even in “coolish” or mild weather cars heat up amazingly fast even with all windows cracked open.

So far this year 10 children have died from being in a hot car.
