Fans hoping to see the Georgia Bulldogs play in this year’s Dukes Mayo Classic will now need to bring a mask. A new mandate has been issued.
The Board of Health of Mecklenburg County issued a mask mandate Wednesday. The mandate requires face coverings to be worn within indoor public places, businesses or establishments within the City of Charlotte and the unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County. The mandate is effective immediately and will continue through Sept. 1.
No. 5 Georgia will face off against No. 3 Clemson in the Dukes Mayo Classic on Sept. 4. Following the new mask mandate, fans seated inside the Bank of America Stadium will not have to be masked for the event. The mandate does not require for masks to be worn outdoors, including the seating within the stadium. However, visitors will have to wear masks while inside all of the stadium’s enclosed areas.
