Chamberlain Smith took to social media Monday morning to post the final photo she took moments before a frightening sideline incident at the Georgia-Auburn football game.
The photography intern for the UGA Athletic Association was run over by Georgia running back Brian Herrien when he was shoved out bounds in the second quarter of the Bulldogs' 21-14 win at Auburn Saturday. She was kneeling with her camera and was knocked unconscious for a brief time.
Smith, of Ringgold, was taken by ambulance to East Alabama Medical Center after the incident and later released.
Over the weekend, Smith also thanked well-wishers on social media, posting to Twitter: “I haven’t had a chance to respond to everyone, but I just wanted to say thank you all so much for the overwhelming outpouring of support in the form of kind comments, messages & prayers! .. last night was very scary, but I’m so glad to be walking away with nothing more than a concussion & some bruises. I will be home resting & recovering for the next several days, but I’m looking forward to being back on the sidelines soon!”
“For those of you asking if I got ‘the’ shot, here it is!! The last thing my camera & I saw before being tackled,” Smith captioned the photo on Twitter, adding, “@brianherrienn, I hope you LOVE this photo!!”
