ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves dropped another chance to advance to the World Series with a 3-1 Game 6 loss to the Dodgers Saturday afternoon.
The Dodgers scored three quick runs off Max Fried in the first inning, but the Braves offense didn’t have many answers for Walker Buehler and the LA bullpen.
The loss moved the best-of-seven NLCS to a 3-3 tie with another chance for the Braves to clinch a World Series berth Sunday night. Game 7 is scheduled to start at 8:15 p.m in Arlington, Texas.
The franchise has blown a 3-1 series lead just once, in 1958, when the Milwaukee Braves lost the World Series to the New York Yankees.
Rookie Ian Anderson will get the start for Atlanta while Los Angeles has not announced a starter. Atlanta’s last Game 7 was a 15-0 win over St. Louis in the 1996 NLCS.
Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was at The Battery in Cobb County where fans hold out hope for a Game 7 victory.
Fans packed the courtyard just outside Truist Park to watch the game on the big screen while others were inside the stadium to cheer on the Braves.
With the weather on Sunday expected to be clear and cool, you can expect another big crowd gathering to see if the Braves can get back to the World Series for the first time since 1999.
