Braves sign Ozuna to add power offense

ATLANTA — A week after losing out on the chance to resign free agent third baseman Josh Donaldson, the Atlanta Braves made a move Tuesday night to add extra power to their offense.

The team agreed to a 1-year, $18 million-dollar contract with OF Marcell Ozuna. He played for the Cardinals in 2019 - his second with St. Louis - batting .241 with 29 home runs. Ozuna however, had a great first-round playoff series against the Braves, hitting .429 with 2 home runs against Atlanta in the NLDS. For the 2019 postseason, Ozuna hit .324.

The 29-year-old Ozuna made his major league debut with the Marlins in 2013 - an All Star in the '16 and '17 seasons.
