A: That’s a good one! It is commonly referred to as starfish fungus or Anemone Stinkhorn. They’re most often growing on dead or decaying material that may be where you can’t see it underground.
Stinkhorn mushrooms are aptly named for the odor they produce once they’re mature. They appear in many different forms and colors. No treatment needed though.
