Authorities at the Paulding County Jail have a mystery - and a dead inmate - on their hands. They are trying to find out why 26-year old Andrew Pittman is dead.
"Pittman was found unconscious on the floor of the bathroom in our detention center early Saturday morning," Corporal Ashley Henson told WSB.
Guards were unable to revive Pittman, who had been incarcerated since November 14 on drug and weapons charges as well as a parole violation.
What makes this a mystery?
"Mr. Pittman was a young man, only 26-years old," Henson explained. "We really don't know what happened.”
With no visible signs of trauma on Pittman's body, the question of what happened will have to be answered in the GBI Crime Lab, where the inmate's body is now being examined.
