WASHINGTON, DC — A funeral service is being held this weekend in Washington, DC for the penny.
Mourners are asked to head out to the Lincoln Memorial Saturday dressed in Victorian-era funeral clothes or Abraham Lincoln costumes.
They’re also urged to bring their own pennies as a sign of respect.
The last batch of pennies was minted last month after the federal government ordered them dis-continued because of cost.
