According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to investigate reports of a woman’s body found on a hiking trail in the Hitchiti National Forest north of Macon, WSB-TV reported.

What the deputies found was actually a life-sized doll, the sheriff’s office wrote on its Facebook page.

Deputy Matthew Dennis, who quickly recognized the doll -- “complete with accessories” -- found the model number. The doll was collected as evidence and brought to the sheriff’s office.

“The victim, now named Selena, is a little under the weather, but she has been having a nice day and is expected a make a full recovery,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

Deputies said they were relieved that the call was a false alarm.

“In all seriousness, thank God for small blessings in that this just turned out to be a case of littering,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook. “If you know Selena or are responsible for her whereabouts, rest assured no DNA was collected and you are safe. But in the future, please make sure to dispose of your items in a responsible way.”
