Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in a news release Thursday said Cocoa Police Department’s officer, Patrick Kelly, 39, was arrested after reportedly barricading himself in his house in Viera, Florida, after a domestic incident.

During the standoff, an arrest warrant was issued for Kelly and he was charged with aggravated assault/domestic violence with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm on residential property, according to BCSO.

Deputies had responded to a house on Framura Lane around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to BCSO.

A woman had reportedly called BCSO stating that Kelly had allegedly threatened her with a gun, according to WFTV.

BCSO said the woman reported that Kelly was having an “emotional crisis.” She was reportedly able to escape from the house.

According to WFTV, Kelly then reportedly barricaded himself inside the house. BCSO’s SWAT Team was eventually able to persuade Kelly to come out of the house. He was then arrested.

BCSO said that Kelly allegedly fired multiple shots inside the house before he came out. BCSO also said that Kelly was off duty at the time of the incident.

Kelly is being held at Brevard County Jail with a no-bond status, BCSO said.

No injuries were reported, BCSO said.
