AUGUSTA, Ga. — A Richmond County deputy was suspended after stomping on a suspect's glasses and flipping him the middle finger.

Ricky McNair was pulled over July 4 for disobedience to traffic control devices and fleeing or attempting to elude officers, WRDW reported.

Body camera video shows footage of the chase and subsequent arrest.

The video is from Pye’s body camera, which was in his patrol car. Sheriff policy indicates the camera only has to be on, not that it has to be worn, WRDW reported.

While McNair is being taken into custody several items fall out of his pocket including his glasses. Deputy Caleb Pye can be seen stomping on the glasses then displaying his middle finger to McNair.

Pye was suspended 15 days without pay.

“In addition, Deputy Pye will pay restitution for damage to personal property as well as undergo counseling,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
