What will relaxed business restrictions for COVID-19 care mean for Georgia commuters?

While business closure restrictions for the COVID-19 virus fight are eased in Georgia, there may be concerns about increased weekend traffic along state routes and busier side streets.

If you do not need to be out at work, or do not have essential business to address, please be mindful of your travel plans and alert to the conditions that surround you.

Should you head out for local travel, be sure to watch for weekend work crews still expanding and improving the area’s highways and side streets. We continue to wish for everyone’s safety and health!

Also, expect multiple lanes blocked on I-285 from Sandy Springs at Northside Drive (Exit 22) to I-75 (Exit 20) in Cobb County during overnight hours, while work on I-75 in Cobb County may block lanes between Wade Green Road (Exit 273) and Barrett Parkway (Exit 269).

Weekend road repairs will continue to restrict lanes in Sandy Springs for I-285 at the Georgia/400 Corridor project between Roswell Road (Exit 25) and Chamblee-Dunwoody Road (Exit 30).

Projects along I-285’s west side perimeter between Camp Creek Parkway (Exit 2) and Paces Ferry Road (Exit 18) may create delays, while work in Clayton County will continue to affect the I-285 exit by Riverdale Road (Exit 60) and the I-75 exit ramps to I-285 (Exit 238).

*All construction is as GDOT reports it and is weather-permitting. All times, lanes blocked, and locations could change.
