Three suspects are in custody, including a Georgia State University student following an armed robbery at a campus dorm, the university said.
The three men allegedly robbed four students, Andrea Jones, GSU spokeswoman, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution late Wednesday. The suspects’ names were not released, but investigators believe some of the victims and suspects were acquaintances, Jones said.
The trio of suspects then left through a stairwell, according to police. No one was hurt.
Police say the suspects knocked on the door and two of the suspects pointed a hand gun in the students’ face before robbing them of an iPad and cell phones.
The crime happened shortly after 7 p.m. in Building C at University Commons, according to online campus crime alert.
The first suspect was described as being 5-foot-5, weighing 150 pounds, and was wearing blue jeans and a black jacket with white sleeves, witnesses told police. The second suspect was 5-foot-10, weighed 200 pounds and was wearing all black with a fisherman’s hat.
The third suspect was described as 5-foot-10 and between 230 and 240 pounds, and wearing a white sweat shirt with red writing, grey sweat pants and a black skull cap.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Georgia State University Police at 404-413-2100 or the Police Tip Line at 404-413-3211.
