Suspect in Jan. Murder Arrested in DeKalb

DeKalb County Police say they're not only glad to have a suspected killer off the streets, they're grateful that no one was hurt during his arrest.

Sgt. Adrion Bell tells WSB tracking down Antione Willis, wanted for the January 2011 murder of Marcus Holloway, hasn't been easy.

"He was a co-defendant with four other suspects.  We caught all of the other ones and he has been very elusive.  He has given our fugitive squad fits," said Bell.

Bell says they finally tracked down Willis Wednesday afternoon in a subdivision on River Ridge Court.

"When they realized that there may be a firearm and he was getting ready to get out of the passenger's side of the car, one of my officers actually took his county-issued vehicle and hit the Hyundai door, pinning him into the vehicle and actually causing him to drop the gun," said Bell.

That gun was a .358 Glock with about 26 rounds of ammunition.  Police were even more disturbed after talking to one of the three passengers in the car with Willis.

"This particular passenger told us that his (Willis') intent was to get out and shoot the officers that were trying to arrest him.  We had about 12 officers on the scene at that time.  With 26 rounds flying, anybody could've been hit," said Bell.

Marcus Holloway was shot to death on January 29th, not far from his home.  Police are still trying to determine a motive.
