One dead, another wounded in shooting at Marietta apartments

One person was killed and another wounded overnight when gunfire broke out during a large party at a Marietta apartment complex.

Channel 2 Action News reported that at least 60 people were at the party at the “Dwell@750” complex on Franklin Road.

“During this party, there were some unwanted visitors that showed up,” Marietta police spokesman David Baldwin told Channel 2.

”An altercation took place between these unwanted guests and some of the party members and several shots were fired,” Baldwin said. “Right now, we’re not sure if there actually was an exchange of gunfire, or if all the gunfire happened from these unwanted guests toward the partygoers.”

At least two people were shot, according to Channel 2.

The station reported that a partygoer drove three men to the hospital. One died, another was hospitalized and police said the third might have just had blood on him and wasn’t hurt after all.

The names of shooting victims have not been released.
