Mass shooting at a home in DeKalb; 1 dead

Authorities say at least one person is dead in a quadruple shooting at a home in DeKalb County.

Channel 2 Action News was the first to be on the scene at the home along Panola Road late Wednesday night.

Police told Channel 2's Darryn Moore someone from the house near Redan Road and Covington Highway called 911 after 10 p.m. to report a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one man dead inside and two other men and woman with gunshot wounds.

At least one of the three victims at Grady Memorial Hospital was able to talk to investigators. The two others suffered serious gunshot wounds and have been in surgery.

From what investigators gathered at the scene and from what one of the victims told them, they said it appeared to be robbery.

"We're investigating to make that determination whether or not this was a home invasion, or if it was something inside the location. We just don't know right now if it was in fact a home invasion-type robbery. We're still trying to make that determination," said DeKalb County Police Lt. Antonio Catlin.

Police are trying to determine if the shooter could be among the injured because they said they found a gun at the scene and no one forced their way inside the house.
