Police say reports of an active shooter at the Villanova University campus were deemed “a hoax.”
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said, “the reports of an active shooter at Villanova today are unfounded, and products of a cruel swatting incident - when someone calls in a fake threat to induce panic.”
The Radnor Township Police Department announced officers responded to Villanova University after reports of a shooting.
Radnor Township Police said, “at this time, there are NO reported victims. If you are sheltering - stay in place until a police officer guides you.”
Villanova University also posted on their website to shelter in place while police continue to search the area.
