DEKALB COUNTY, GA — An investigation is underway after a woman’s body was recovered from a lake in DeKalb County early Monday morning.
Fire crews responded after a person was seen floating in the water at a small private lake in the Misty Lake subdivision in Ellenwood.
Rescuers recovered the woman’s body from the lake a short time later.
The woman has been identified as Joanne Howell, who was the subject of a Mattie’s Call.
DeKalb County police are investigating to determine how Howell died.
