Wheels Up private airline to open new operations center in Atlanta

(ATLANTA, Ga.) — Aviation Week reports that private airline Wheels Up is opening a 34,000 square-foot operations center in Atlanta, Georgia. Called a Member Operations Center, the facility will provide a place for members of the service to rest, relax, work, or reserve a conference room.

“It’s an exciting time to be able to put that on the balance sheet,” said Wheels Up founder and CEO Kenny Dichter. “It’s a very powerful footprint that we’re putting in Atlanta. We’re excited to be in the same metro as our largest shareholder, Delta Air Lines.”

Located close to the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, the facility is set to break ground and be complete with full staff by summer of 2023. It will consolidate current operations of Wheels Up, and provide dispatch, scheduling, maintenance, and other logistical functions.

350 new jobs are expected to be created by the new facility.
