Walmart to layoff 1500 employees in retailer’s global technology team

BENTONVILLE, AR — Just days after Walmart announced it had a strong first quarter, the world’s largest retailer says it’s laying off 1500 corporate employees.

The layoffs impact the retailer’s global technology team.

A spokesperson says the changes reflect the company’s growth strategies, and are not related to tariffs or economic uncertainty.

Walmart has about 1.6 million employees.
