CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — A 79-year-old man has died after crashing a van into the back of a school bus in Cherokee County on Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 92 and Main Street.
The bus was carrying Woodstock Elementary School students at the time of the crash. Officials say two juveniles suffered minor injuries and are being treated.
In a letter to parents, Woodstock Elementary School Principal Clatrina Lane said all 20 students on the bus and the driver are safe.
The crash closed the northbound side of Main Street and a right lane on Highway 92.
Lane said an additional school nurse and counselors will be at the school to support students following the crash.
The identity of the man who died was not released by officials.
The investigation is ongoing.
