UGA announces additional $1.7 million dollar investment in campus safety

ATHENS, GA — The University of Georgia continues to invest more money in order to upgrade security nearly a year after Laken Riley’s murder.

University President Jere Morehead announced an additional $1.7 million dollar investment which will go towards more fencing, emergency call stations, and new software and technology improvements for the UGA police department.

The funds add to last year’s $7.3 million dollar investment.
