After deliberating less than 30 minutes, a jury found Atlanta Police Officer Jimmie Currie not guilty of public indecency.

It is a case of he said, he said.
A 16-year-old boy said a man, later identified as Jimmie Currie, opened his bathroom stall door at Lenox Mall and began pleasuring himself.
The trial begins today in Fulton County state court for a cop accused of exposing himself to a teenager two years ago.
When the boy jumped up, he told police the officer ran out of the restroom.
The teen called his mom, and she alerted mall security. The victim was able to identify the man inside the restroom to mall security guards.
When a guard asked Currie for identification, he gave them his Atlanta Police ID card.
Immediately following the incident, a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department released a statement:
"The APD takes these allegations very seriously.
“Chief Turner has always prioritized officer accountability and honesty, and will continue to take decisive action when necessary to hold his employers to the highest standard.”
Currie has been on desk duty while awaiting trial on his charge of public indecency, and he will take the stand to say it is not true.
WSB Radio‘s Veronica Waters reports that the trial is expected to last no longer than a day and a half.
