Top NFL Draft pick & Stockbridge native Will Anderson honored by city council

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — Stockbridge native Will Anderson was recently honored in front of the city council, just weeks after he was selected No. 3 in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.

The Stockbridge Mayor and City Council issued a proclamation for the Dutchtown High School graduate at City Hall.

Anderson was joined by family and friends as he received the honor.

Georgia State Representative Demetrius Douglas also issued a state proclamation recognizing Anderson, and the Henry County Board of Education Chairwoman Annette Edwards formally recognized him as well.

Anderson played at Alabama from 2020 through 2022 and established himself as one of the premier players in all of college football. He finished fifth in Heisman Trophy Award voting back in 2021.

The Texans traded several draft picks to the Arizona Cardinals to move up to No. 3 to pick Anderson.
