Tiger on the loose from animal sanctuary after tornado rips through west Georgia

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A tiger is on the loose in west Georgia after a tornado ripped through the area on Sunday morning.

Troup County Sheriff officials said they received a report that a tiger is unaccounted for at the Pine Mountain Animal Safari park.

It is unclear how the tiger escaped.

Deputies said the tiger escaped after a confirmed tornado tore through Troup County.

The tornado downed trees, damaged buildings and left people trapped in their homes Sunday morning.

It’s unclear how many people were injured. Crews are still working to get to people who are trapped.

The park has not provided comment online regarding the tiger’s disappearance.
