The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says one man was killed in a weekend wreck on I-985: they say his SUV overturned on the interstate between Spout Springs and Friendship Roads.

A man from Talmo and another man from Gainesville were killed in a weekend crash on Athens Highway in Hall County: the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says Toby Langley was 42 years old; Marcos Lopez was 25. Investigators say they were killed in a head-on collision that happened when Lopez’ car crossed a center lane and hit the vehicle being driven by Langley.

Sheriff’s deputies and Hall County Fire Services personnel responded to the call around 2 a.m. on U.S. 129/Athens Highway at Barrett Road. The driver of each vehicle died at the scene of the crash.

The victims were identified as Marcos Ezequiel Lopez, 25, of Gainesville, and Toby Langley, 42, of Talmo. Deputies have notified next of kin.

According to the sheriff’s office, Lopez was southbound on Athens Highway in a Toyota Corolla. Lopez left his lane, and his car hit Langley’s northbound 2002 Ford Escape head-on.

The collision remains under investigation by the Accident Investigation Unit.
