ROSWELL, Ga. — A SWAT standoff concluded Friday evening after a man who barricaded himself inside a Roswell apartment surrendered to authorities.
Around 2:22 p.m. the Roswell Police Department received a 911 call concerning a person who was shot.
When authorities arrived at 148 Grove Way, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the thigh and upper shoulder.
The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The situation occurred a few hundred yards from the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area right off of Atlanta Street.
Police said a young man who lives in one of the apartments barricaded himself inside with his mother and would not cooperate with police for several hours.
North Fulton SWAT then arrived at the scene and continued to talk with the suspected gunman.
Around 5 p.m. the suspect came out of the apartment to surrender to the authorities.
He was tased and transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The woman inside the home was also taken to the hospital due to a hand injury she received during the standoff.
