CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Cherokee County fire investigators have made an arrest following three structure fires within a 24-hour period.
Following an investigation, Jackie Ingram was arrested and charged with first-degree arson.
One of the fires happened at a home along Bells Ferry Road near Lake Allatoona. The homeowner was able to escape the early morning fire, but a dog inside the home died.
Two other fires were reported Sunday.
The first broke out shortly after 2 p.m. at a home in the area of Bentley Parkway and Arnold Mill Road. Firefighters from Woodstock and Cherokee County responded around 2:20 p.m. and brought the fire under control.
One person suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
A second fire broke out about three and a half hours later, just before 6 p.m., along Old Orange Mill Road in an unincorporated area of Cherokee County.
