OXFORD, Ga. — Emory University says its Oxford campus is all clear after school officials asked students to shelter in place due to a police emergency Friday afternoon.
The university tweeted that an emergency unfolded at Murdy Hall, but have not given details on what happened.
According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 caller reported that someone had entered Murdy Hall, which is one of the four dorm rooms on campus, with a gun.
School officials have not said if anyone has been injured.
There is currently a large law enforcement presence on campus.
Emory at Oxford is a satellite campus in Newton County.
