ATLANTA — If you’re tired of standing in line to get inside State Farm Arena, there’s now a much faster way.
The venue has partnered with CLEAR -- an identity verification program usually seen at airports.
They’re a familiar sight near the security checkpoint at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport: The CLEAR kiosks.
Users verify their identity and skip the tedious wait.
Chase Yancy is eager to see the kiosks in other places with long lines.
“I think it would be a good way to get into sporting events and things as well -- bypass a couple of security measures, easier to get through security,” Yancy said.
That’s the ticket with CLEAR -- faster entry.
It’s why State Farm Arena is teaming up with CLEAR -- to offer that same convenience for Hawks games, concerts, and any other events.
Gate 6 serves as the VIP lane for all CLEAR users.
State Farm Arena’s executive vice president Andrew Saltzman said it’s about improving the total fan experience.
“If we can get you in quicker so you can enjoy yourself here for a Hawks game or a concert or for a family show, that’s gonna make you want to come back more and more,” Saltzman said.
He told Channel 2′s Bryan Mims that with thousands of people packing into State Farm Arena for a game or concert, they need a clear alternative.
“While we may not be able to fix traffic, we certainly can get you inside State Farm Arena quicker, seamlessly and with less friction,” Saltzman said.
Just as you do at the airport, the kiosks will scan your eyes and fingerprints to verify your identity. Then you’ll pass through the metal detectors. Then you’re in.
“Again, we can serve our fans in another very impactful way,” Saltzman said.
State Farm Arena said the deal is a multi-year partnership with CLEAR, so these kiosks will be a fixture at Gate 6 for the foreseeable future.
