"Most people are going home today, like right now," says Fayetteville, Georgia resident Phillip Pfaffman.
Pfaffman, a Freshman at Charleston Southern University tells WSB Radio he received an email blast from the Administration saying all classes canceled in Charleston, South Carolina until the storm passes.
Pfaffman plans on leaving but not until he hits the beach and checks out the intense waves with his surfing buddies.
“Foley Beach it’s like right on the coast. We are going to go today just because the waves are going to be pretty good, and then we’re probably going to surf for a little bit, but tomorrow is when it’s going to start getting really choppy and that’s when everyone is probably going to have to pack it up shop.”
Pfaffman who has only been away at college for a few weeks says “yeah it’s actually pretty crazy, I mean I’ve never seen anything like this in Atlanta,
but I guess it’s pretty normal around here for hurricanes, and this is one of the biggest ones they’ve seen.”
