Small bridge collapses in Cobb Co.

The bridge leading into and out of the Pine Haven mobile home park on Sandtown Rd collapsed from overnight heavy rain. More than an inch of rain fell during a one hour period Sunday night. More than 200 residents are stranded in their homes inside the neighborhood.

Some residents made it across the damaged bridge on foot, but no cars could go across.

Resident Megan McCoy said, "a lot of people live here with small children, this is a huge safety hazard". McCoy told Wsb radio, "the bridge had only been repaired recently after collapsing earlier this year".

One resident said, the bridge has washed out at least three times in six years.
