Man accused of killing estranged wife, young niece in DeKalb County arrested

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police have arrested the man accused of killing his estranged wife and young niece at an apartment complex on Friday.

Officers responded to the Forest of Columbia apartment complex off of I-20 and Columbia Drive after reports of a shooting around 3 p.m.

Police say 29-year-old Tomika Pullins and 7-year-old Dior Scott were identified as the shooting victims.

Witnesses told police, the suspect identified as 48-year-old William Lewis Almond was “trying to get into the apartment.” When he was not allowed in, officials say Williams broke a window and fired multiple shots and hit both victims.

Police say Williams ran away before later being arrested.

There is no word on a possible motive. The shooting remains under investigation.
