Search still on for missing Cobb girl

One day after authorities dug up a back yard, looking for her daughter’s body, a Cobb County woman describes to WSB’s Pete Combs the terrible conflict she feels after more than nine months of searching.

“Gut-wrenching. Helpless. Heartbroken.”

Those are the emotions Lisa Daniel is grappling with almost ten months after her 27-year old daughter, Tiffany Whitton, disappeared. Tuesday, Marietta police dug up the backyard where her ex-boyfriend, Ashley Caudle lived before he was arrested on drug charges. He remains incarcerated.

Daniels says she was afraid detectives would find Tiffany’s body in that backyard.

“The next greatest fear is that they would find nothing at all,” Daniels says. That was not the case, she added, noting that there was evidence found in the search that she believes will eventually help find her daughter – dead or alive.

Daniels says the ordeal has been toughest on Tiffany’s daughter. The seven-year old tells Daniels that she doesn’t belong at home. She tells Daniels that she belongs wherever her mommy is.
