Reward amount increased to $25K for information on doctor killed by stray bullet in Brookhaven

ATLANTA — The Brookhaven Police Department is still asking for your help with information on the death of a doctor in 2022.

On January 16, 2022, they responded to the 3100 block of Clairmont Road about a man shot in his apartment.

They got to the scene and found 31-year-old Dr. Matthew Willson of Chertsey, Surrey, England lying in his bed with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police said he later died from his injuries.

His girlfriend and other neighbors say random gunfire in the area has been a problem for months.

The family and friends of Willson have pledged additional funds towards the reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible.

The reward is now $25,000.
