Rapper “Young Thug” Arrested

Update: Rapper Young Thug is facing more charges a day after federal agents raided his Sandy Springs home. Williams is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail.Indictment claims Young Thug involved in conspiracy to kill Lil Wayne.

An Atlanta area rapper is locked up, charged with making a terroristic threat against a security guard.

His name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, but he goes by the stage name of Young Thug.  He was arrested Wednesday morning by U.S. Marshals on a warrant out of Dunwoody.

"There was a disurbance inside the mall that he was causing," says Dunwoody Police Office Tim Fecht.  "That's when mall security got involved and was in the process of asking him to leave when he made his comment to the security guard."

According to police, Williams was at Perimeter Mall on July 7 when the incident began.

It was that statement that led to charges against the 22 year old.

"While security was asking Mr. Williams to leave the property," Fecht tells WSB, "he stated to one of the security guards that he threatened to shoot him in the face."

Fecht says Williams then went into the parking lot, got into his car, and drove off before police arrived.

After an investigation Williams was charged by Dunwoody Police.  The Marshals tracked him to an apartment in Sandy Springs.

He was transported into the DeKalb County jail.  Police say they have not found any other incidents involving Williams.
