Rabid raccoon found in metro Atlanta community

SNELLVILLE, GA — A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Snellville after it was attacked by dogs near Tree View Drive.

Officials said the raccoon was attacked by three dogs. The dogs are now undergoing rabies treatment.

The public is being advised to use caution around animals that are acting oddly.

Pet owners are also being urged to make sure their animals are up to date on their rabies vaccinations.
