ATLANTA — Georgians are being warned about a popular salad dressing that could be contaminated with salmonella after the FDA upgraded the recall to its highest-risk designation.
Salata recalled its Jalapeño Avocado Dressing after learning that diced jalapeños used in the product could be contaminated with salmonella.
The peppers have been linked to a multistate salmonella outbreak that the FDA is also investigating.
The recalled dressing was sold in Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. The recall includes some 12.5-ounce bottles and one-gallon jugs with expiration dates in October and November.
No injuries have been reported.
Shoppers who have the recalled dressing can return it to the store for a full refund.
