ATLANTA — A Hapeville police officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital Wednesday morning after a crash on I-85 South near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Hapeville police say the female officer was responding to an unrelated call when her police cruiser collided with a pickup truck near Sylvan Road.
The crash temporarily shut down all southbound lanes and caused a major backup for drivers heading toward the airport.
The extent of the officer’s injuries is not known.
Police remain at the scene Wednesday morning removing debris and investigating the cause of the crash.
