ATLANTA — Atlanta police arrested a man suspected of stealing a tablet just minutes after it was stolen from a delivery truck.
On Monday, May 22 at around 11:35 a.m., an officer responded to 148 Andrew Young International Blvd. NE in reference to a theft from a vehicle.
The officer spoke with the victim who said he was making a delivery at the address and when he returned to his delivery truck, he noticed his work tablet was missing.
After calling 911, the victim met with onsite security and was able to get a description of the suspect by reviewing video surveillance footage.
The suspect was believed to have left on foot.
Security provided a photo of the suspect to the officer when he arrived.
The officer began searching the area and used technology to track the suspect’s movements to the area of Peachtree Center Ave. and John Portman Blvd.
At around 12:06 p.m., the officer spotted a man matching the description of the suspect and detain him.
He was identified as 42-year-old Tony Clark.
Inside Clark’s bookbag, the officer recovered a tablet, which was later confirmed to be the stolen work tablet.
Clark was arrested and charged with entering an automobile and theft by taking.
He was booked into the Fulton County Jail.
