Want to hit the trails this year but you're not sure where they are ? There's an app for that!
The PATH Foundation has launched a free app that let's you explore PATH trails around metro Atlanta. You just go to your app store and download PATH Foundation.
The app give you GPS directions. Char Devoursney with the PATH foundations says, "You can put your address in and click on a place of one of the trial for parking and it will give you exact directions of how to get to that location."
She says there was a big need for it because people weren't sure how to get to the trails or how to find parking. The app will navigate you through trails in Atlanta, Dekalb and Rockdale counties.
PATH Foundation and its many contributors have been building a network of over one hundred eight miles of off-road trails in and around Atlanta. The trails attract walkers, runners, cyclists and skaters.
PATH is nationally recognized as a model for trail-building success. Some of the trails in Georgia include The Silver Comet, Stone Mountain, Arabia Mountain, Chastain Park and South River Trails.
About two thousand people have already downloaded and used the app. The hope is that with this new app more people will discover PATH trails in metro Atlanta and start using them.
