Parents upset partly nude teacher in classroom still working and interacting with students

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Earlier this week video was posted on social media showing what appears to be a partially nude teacher in a classroom in Clayton County.

Now, parents are upset that the teacher is still on the job.

Parents say they were told the teacher at Jonesboro High School has the benefit of due process, but they’re upset he’s still roaming the halls and interacting with students like nothing happened.

One parent said she saw the teacher, who is not being identified, when she came to the school to complain about him.

“I came as a concerned parent, and I wanted something, you know, I wanted them to rectify the situation,” she said.

The video shows the teacher from behind, clearly shirtless with his hand moving back and forth.

“It seems he was doing something very inappropriate,” the parent said.

The parent, who also didn’t want to be identified, said when she asked administrators why the teacher is still allowed to teach, she was told the teacher has due process and the teacher has yet to be charged with a crime.

Attorney Julie Oinonen, who doesn’t represent the teacher in the video but does represent educators and school districts, said she would recommend placing the teacher on administrative leave until his hearing can be held, something the parent agrees with.

“I don’t think having him in the classroom is an option,” she said.

The school district has yet to comment on the matter, but it appears the teacher is now working in a non-classroom setting.
