No. 2 Georgia heads to Oxford for highly anticipated showdown against No. 10 Ole Miss

OXFORD, GA — A major college football matchup is set for Saturday as No. 2 Georgia travels to Oxford to face No. 10 Ole Miss in a showdown between two teams ranked in the top 10 of the initial College Football Playoff rankings.

The Bulldogs enter the game looking to overcome a difficult history on the road against the Rebels. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has lost both of his previous trips to Oxford.

Ole Miss has been especially tough to beat at home, winning 25 of its last 26 games in Oxford since 2023, including a victory over Georgia two years ago.

The Rebels also ended Georgia’s season last year, adding another layer of significance to Saturday’s matchup.

Smart acknowledged the challenge ahead, emphasizing the level of competition both teams bring to the field.

“That’s what you want, you want to be in the talk, in the conversation, essentially, you’re playing a team that’s capable of beating anybody and so are we,” Smart said.

The Georgia head coach also highlighted the importance of competing in high-profile matchups.

“It’s what you want if you come to Georgia you want to play these kinds of games. It’s two play-off teams from last year,” Smart said.

Georgia enters Saturday’s contest as a 3.5-point favorite.

Pregame coverage begins at 3:30 p.m., with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday on 95.5 WSB, your Home of the Dawgs.
