There are new developments in the search for a woman who’s been missing for 22 years.
34-year-old Sherri Vanessa Holland was last seen at her vacation home in Flagler Beach, Florida jumping in her car and headed for Atlanta after telling friends she’d gotten a call she’d been waiting for. That was in 1996.
Now, Morrow Police Chief James Callaway is searching the woods off Duffy Drive after getting an anonymous tip.
“This individual had found a driver license, credit cards and a Sam’s Club membership card,”
That was two years ago, but the tipster didn’t think to phone it in until last week. Callaway thinks the items belonged to Holland. That led investigators to check the woods. And there’s more. Cadaver dogs got a strong indication of something in these woods.
So far, the GBI, Clayton County deputies and Morrow police haven’t found any remains but Callaway hope he’s close to solving a case that’s hung over his department for more than two decades and plans to start digging before nightfall.
