Cherokee, Cobb counties part of metro Winter Weather Advisory

On-and-off rain the past few days through the weekend across metro Atlanta are now set to give way to snow chances and much colder air moving in late Sunday into Monday.

The National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight through 9 a.m. Monday for portions of far north Georgia.

Cobb County is now part of the advisory area, along with Cherokee County.

In preparation for possible winter weather, state and local officials were getting crews on standby and to send out overnight to treat roadways.

WSB meteorologist Christina Edwards calls clear skies on Monday, but cold, with highs only in the mid 40′s. With the wind, it will feel chillier than that.
